This week you will have the choice of reading two of three selections: Hodgman’s “No Wonder They Call Me a Bitch” (it’s a satire…relax…), Bissell’s “Thirteen Ways to Look at a Shooter,” or Laska’s “Empire of Ice.” All three fit under the heading of descriptive essay, but in very different ways. Your task for this week’s discussion board will be to choose two of them, identify their theses, and explain (with specific evidence from the reading) why they are descriptive essays.
