select a species and/or behavior or characteristic mentioned in the signage that is interesting to you and come up with a question about ecology/evolution that you are curious about.
Independent project—one student writing and submitting their own, independent work. (Any
assignments turned in with species and question that are the same or substantially similar will get
0 points for this part of the assignment.) As you are walking around the zoo, read the information
about the work the zoo is doing to help endangered or threatened species. Based on this
information, select a species and/or behavior or characteristic mentioned in the signage that
is interesting to you and come up with a question about ecology/evolution that you are
curious about.
a) What is your question?
b) Now go to Google Scholar at https://scholar.google.com and search for research articles that
relate to your topic. Pick one paper that best relates to your question. Copy and paste the citation
and abstract from the journal web site and upload to Canvas. Make sure the paper is related
directly to your question. (You may change your question to match a paper you find if you need
to!)
c) What did the paper conclude? Summarize the abstract in a sentence or two.
