Medical and Surgical software coding

This week you will be writing a memo as the coding supervisor to your new coding staff in regard to two of the Root Operation guidelines found under the Medical and Surgical guidelines in the front of your code book. These guidelines start with B3.1a and go through B3.16. Choose any two that you wish to explain to your new coders.

If you are not familiar with a proper memo format, you can Google “Memo Template” and find one to use as an example.

In your memo, include the following information:

Quote the two guidelines verbatim from the code book.
Explain the guidelines in your own words so that the new coders have a better understanding of the guidelines.
Provide a code and the written code description from the code book as and example of how to use the guidelines you selected to explain.
Explain why it is important for the new coders to understand these two guidelines.
Remember to use proper tone in your paper. You are speaking from a “coding supervisor” point of view addressing your new coding staff in the memo.
Make sure to use proper format for your memo, and include all of the required communication elements for an internal memorandum.
Proof read your memo so that it is free from errors.
Be sure you look up all words you don’t understand. You will be graded on clarity of instruction, thoroughness of instruction, and creativity in making the guidelines you chose easy for a new coder to follow.
