You can choose anyphilosophical concept, theme, or movement in Islamic philosophyand cultureranging from classical to contemporary. You can also compare two thinkers on the same issue. Use introductory books and encyclopedias, for example those suggested in the syllabus, in order to find a nice topic. You can also do further research on any of the topicsor philosopherscovered in class.It is preferable if you can choose a topic that will enhance your knowledge ofyour own major or field of study.1.The paper proposalis one page that includes one paragraph of 300 words introducing your topic, its significance, and your methodology plus a list of the sources you plan to use. You need to use a minimum of 6scholarly sources including monographs and journal articles. Thesources must be listed on the same pageaccording to the Chicago Manual of Style (16thedition).Please use Times New Roman font 12 single spaced.Methodology: Your methodology ranges from exposition of a theme to historical analysis, philosophical argumentation, comparative analysis, textual analysis, cultural analysis, or a combination of them. You can do a preliminary research on what each of these methods mean before selecting one. Please specify in your proposal which method you are going to apply.2.Thefirst draftshouldbe as close to the final version as possible.
