I remember when I learned how to swim because of the exciting experience that followed. Before, I was afraid of water because of the stories I had heard from my childhood friends. Jack often narrated how he almost drowned while Betty shuddered with fear after one of her friends threw her to a pool. Luckily for Betty, she was rescued by her brother, who scolded her friend for risking Betty’s life. Even though I was scared, I decided to face my fears and asked my brother to teach me how to swim. We spend countless hours and days before I could swim with minimal difficulties. I was excited that I had mastered the secret to a dreadful activity that affected my relationship with other people in my surroundings. I was now confident enough to dive and join the big boys club during their swimming hours. They were impressed with my newly acquired swimming skills and encouraged me to train even harder to learn other styles.
Later in my youthful stage, video editing seemed a difficult task because of the different skills required to create a smooth cut and transitions in between scenes. Although I was aware of the different video editing software applications, I was not conversant with any of the tools. I visited various YouTube channels that offered a significant depth of insights. I was fascinated by one that appeared to target rookies looking to begin their video editing journey. I was consistent and took down notes to understand the different approaches I should have used to understand the concepts. After a fortnight of learning, I shot my brother’s swimming activity and his friends. I then ran the raw footage on the Adobe Premiere Pro software, which guided me through the different editing processes. Showing the final content to my friends was euphoric because of their disbelief about the quality of the cuts in the short video.
